BEGINNING RIDER SESSIONS 

Sessions are an excellent introduction to horse back riding for kids who have little to no previous experience with horses. Sessions are one, 60 minute lesson per week for six weeks. Sessions are currently offered on choice of Mondays or Tuesdays 5pm-6pm. 

Students will learn safety on and around horses, catching and tying a horse, preparing the horse for riding from grooming to saddling, and the basics of steering at a walk and trot in fun and hands on classes.

Students will work through the "Red Level" of our lesson curriculum, gaining proficiency of foundational riding skills and balance to set them up for success in any future riding goals. Lessons will be taught with English style equipment, but the aids and positions learned will be fully universal to adapt to most any style of riding including western disciplines. 

Classes will be held Mondays and Tuesdays, 5pm-6pm, with both on the ground preparations and saddle time. Classes will have a maximum of 5 students with 3-4 being the average number of riders. After initial lessons, each student will be assigned their own horse by the instructor and continue on the same horse for the duration of the class barring any exceptional circumstances. 

Students must wear full length pants regardless of weather and shoes with rigid soles such as boots, "cowboy boots" are acceptable. Students should wear layers appropriate for outside weather. A bottle of water is strongly recommended. Safety helmets, horses and horse equipment are provided. 

Session Cost: $300 per rider. Sibling discount rate: $280 per rider.

Makeup Dates: Thursdays 6/27, 7/11

We will offer several 6 week beginner riding sessions throughout the year, including Spring Session-April/May, Summer Session-June/July, Back to School Session-July/Aug and a fall session-Sept/Oct.
